JP RACING S.A.

JP Stands for the first name of its founder Jean-Paul Calandreau. JP Racing made a name for himself by partnering with Novarossi engines and altering them. He was one of the pioneers of what we know as DLC coating. He coated the crank cases, carburetors, and crankshafts on the Black series of engines.

History Timeline

  • Mid 2009 Forums reported JP Racing closed down due to Jean-Paul wanting to retire.
  • February 10th, 2010 Jean-Paul Calandreau teams up with GI-MAR and releases a line of engines and pipes under JP GI-MAR.

Stock version JP Engines The lowest price for the JP Racing High Quality JP Engines have been tried and tested all over the world, JP Racing has introduced a new range of non-modified engines : The Eagle Engines, FX Engines and First Line Engines stock version.

For a maximum longevity, especially the crankshafts keep the famous HardBlack coating. A red putty, used for over 20 years on JP Racing engines, is placed in designed hole of the crankshaft to improve gas flow.

The new JP Stock version Engines combine the JP Racing high quality, longevity and competitive prices.

FX

The FX line was done in partnership with Novarossi using Novarossi parts.

Eagle

These are JP Branded engines made by Novarossi to JPs Specs. These engines are the premium engines in the product stack.

Black

Recognizable to their black crankcases, the JP Black Engines are at the top of the world performances and through several ingredients: - The excellent connections between Novarossi and JP Racing companies. - The knowledge of Jean-Paul CALANDREAU’s long experience in mechanical science enabled him to develop and improve many tips to increase racing engine's performances. - The engine parts are meticulously prepared and perfectly assembled.

JP Black Engines Modifications…… Often copied, never equaled ! Every engine is carefully assembled. The bearings are precisely aligned and checked. The crankshaft is adjusted to the two bearings in order to obtain a free rotation. The piston-sleeve set is assembled on the best in the crankcase and the engine decompression is adjusted to the recommended fuel. Every engine is tested in compression in order to reach an optimum output since the end of the running-in. - Black Crankcase After undergone modification of its ports and their alignment with the sleeve, the crankcase is treated black in order to improve the heat dispelling. The decrease of temperature of the engine enables a better output and a lower consumption. With this treatment the crankcase’s oxidation is avoided, the bearing site and the crankshaft’s passage have better hardness.

- Lightened and Treated Crankshaft With the great effort, the crankshaft is lightened to reduce its inertia. The designed hole is filled with a special dough which improves the gas flow and decreases the crankshaft vibration at high speed and reliability bearings.. The crankshaft’s timing and shape are optimize the gas flow and balance by means of modification. To provide high reliability to this important engine part, the crankshaft (especially its pin) get HardBlack coating which has a hardness close to the diamond’s and a friction coefficient similar to the Teflon’s. This treatment ensures higher RPM without any loss to the connecting rod.

- Modified Piston-Sleeve Set The sleeve ports are modified and aligned with this crankcase. The piston is adjusted to the sleeve in order to obtain an optimum compression and better performances after the running.

- OPTION Ceramic Bearings The JP Engine's rear bearing can be mounted with ceramic balls (except in the Stock Version engines). allow very high RPM. Due to the low density of the ceramic balls, the pressure on the cages is minimum and won't slows down the rotation of the mowing parts when RPM are increasing. The longevity of ceramic bearing’s is better than normal bearing’s. Recommended for high-level competition.

- OPTION Pre-running-in The pre-running is manipulated by Jean-Paul Calandreau. It is an additionial guarantee of performance and longevity of the engine. You are most WELCOME for T-Rod option!

- OPTION - R6 CONROD (light) The R6 is the most performant of the current conrods designed for the different JP21 engines. The brass ring on the piston side has been taken away to lighten it, for better performances. It must be used with the special HardBlack treated wrist pin. The coating limits the frictions and avoids the micro-scratches. The R6 connecting rod is used for more bottom power, better acceleration, and engine moving parts reliability.
